We offer free health screenings to underserved community members of the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor areas. These screenings are performed at local community centers, such as homeless shelters, and allow community members to obtain information about their vitals, which may then be used to determine the need for follow-up care. Community members can also have their vital signs recorded regularly to help monitor trends or changes in their health. In addition, we also aim to help community members navigate their medical documentation, such as after-visit summaries, to the extent of each volunteer's training.

Health Screenings
Trained volunteers will be able to obtain the following vital signs for community members:
- Blood pressure
- Heart rate
- Respiratory rate
- Oxygen saturation
- Blood glucose
In addition, we offer the ability to record vital signs regularly over time; this allows community members to keep a record of trends or changes in their health and identity when follow-up care may be needed.

Medical Literacy Assistance
We recognize that many patients face challenges navigating their healthcare journey due to complex terminology, language barriers, or limited access to guidance. Our trained volunteers help community members interpret after-visit summaries, review key information like medications and follow-up instructions, and learn how to use patient portals, all to the extent of our training, without diagnosing or providing medical advice.
All support is provided with respect for privacy and in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
